MUKUBA UNIVERSITY INTRODUCES NEW PROGRAMS

In line with the Terms of Reference given to the transitional administration at Mukuba University, Management was to take stock of programmes offered by the institution and systematically design clear organisational faculties in which the programmes were to be anchored or housed. The faculties issue was addressed last year with the realignment of schools from four (04) to three (03). Senate, at a meeting held on the 11th of September 2019 approved the following undergraduate and Graduate Programmes:

Undergraduate

• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics
• Bachelor of Primary Science
• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
• Bachelor of Physics with options in Renewable Energy or Nuclear Physics
• Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counselling
• Bachelor of Science in Biology
• Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology

Graduate Programmes

• Masters of Science in Chemistry
• Master of Education
• Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics
• Master of Education and Administration
• Master Science in Statistics and Business Mathematics
• Master of Science in Information Systems

However, more programmes were left for consideration at the next sitting.

Furthermore, on 5th September, the University signed an MoU with Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences in Zimbabwe in which the two universities intend to cooperate in the following areas:

• Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes
• Cooperation in existing Programmes
• Joint Research activities
• Staff exchange and mutual visits
• Student exchange

Senate at the meeting held on the 30th of September, 2019 approved further new programmes in line with the Strategic Plan 2017-2020. Senate had thus approved a total of Twenty Three (23) new programmes as follows:

The programmes are expected to be advertised in brochures on Wednesday 23/10/2019 following the certification of the programmes by the Higher Education Authority (HEA).
